Are your reviews independent?
Yes. We buy review units where we can and borrow them where we can’t, and we never accept payment, gifts-with-strings, or pre-agreed scores in exchange for publishing a review. If a relationship with a maker ever could be seen to affect a review, we disclose it in the article.
How do you score products?
Out of 10, to one decimal place, against six consistent axes for each category (design, performance, the headline feature, battery, software and value). How long do you test before publishing?
At least two weeks of daily use. First impressions are easy and usually wrong; the annoyances and the genuinely great touches both take time to surface. For longer-term reliability we revisit reviews and update them.
Do you update reviews after publishing?
Yes — reviews are living. A meaningful software update, a price change, or a recall can move the score, and when that happens we note what changed and why at the top of the article.
Why do some scores include the cost of a subscription?
Because the true price of a device increasingly includes what you pay after you buy it. If the best features sit behind an ongoing subscription, that affects the value score and we say so clearly.
Can I request a review?
Absolutely. Use the
contact form and tell us what you’d like tested and why. We can’t cover everything, but reader requests genuinely shape what we prioritise.
How do I send a tip or a correction?
The
contact form goes straight to the editorial desk. You can submit a tip anonymously, and if you spot a factual error we’ll verify it and update the review with a note on the change.
Do you use affiliate links?
If we ever add links that earn a commission, they will be clearly labelled and will never influence a score or whether a product is recommended. Editorial and commercial are kept strictly separate.
Do you cover only the latest, most expensive gear?
No. We cover what’s genuinely interesting or genuinely good value across phones, wearables, EVs and the smart home. A clever mid-range device that punches above its price is exactly the kind of thing worth a review.
Are the prices and specs on the site current?
We publish the price and specifications as they were at the time of review and note the review date on every article. Prices and specs change — always confirm the current details with the manufacturer or retailer before buying.
